Energy management is akin to monitoring but with additional benefits. By monitoring the power we get feedback that we can use to control devices based on time of day, temperature, peak demand, and budgets. As smart meters are rolled out across the coutry there is no doubt that the electric companies will use the data collected form these devices to alter the way we pay for electricity. For most of our clients this means that at peak times of day energy will be much more expensive. By managing the power use in the home we are able to shut down non critical loads during these times and take advantage of lower rates and possibly even rebates should they become reality.
